RocoMamas is an international brand
Founded in South Africa in 2013, RocoMamas has fast become an international success with over 100 fast casual restaurants operating Australia, Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, the Middle East, Cyprus, India and of course South Africa!
RocoMamas restaurants have funky décor, a rock ‘n roll vibe and are supported by unique menu and an open-style kitchen where customers can see (and smell) the meals being prepared. This new concept is a result of the growing appetite for handmade food and a more personalised dining experience.
Customers can sit down and soak up the laid-back vibe with ribs and craft beer or choose to order a takeaway thanks to the speedy service.
RocoMamas has a menu that goes far beyond your typical fast casual joint; it’s all about customisation.
Food preparation and the use of high quality ingredients take a higher priority in fast casual restaurants. Food is presented in a fashion that highlights the freshness of the ingredients and preparation. Fast Casual restaurants offer the quality of casual dining combined with the speed of fast food and have the prices to match this middle ground.
Here in Australia, our initial focus is Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Our flagship store is at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne. Our businesses thrive in busy food and entertainment precincts and there are plenty for us to pick from.
Part of our franchisee support program includes designing each new store and organising the fitout and launch. We have a team of franchising and store development experts who will work with you to make sure your RocoMamas is just what you need.
Location and size are 2 big factors that influence costs.
RocoMamas restaurants are usually 150 – 200m2 in size plus some external seating and usually cost somewhere between $550,000 to $750,000. This includes GST and it includes your rental bond and first months rent for the landlord, so it is an all up cost package.
The standard franchise term is 5 years, with an option to renew for a further 5 years. However, we adjust this period to match the term of your premises lease, so it is possible to get 7 or 10 year periods if the lease is for longer than the standard period.
As you can imagine, with over 80 restaurants worldwide, we have very good systems and lots of experience and knowledge to share with you.
Our franchisees receive up to 6 weeks personalised training from our Australian based team. This includes at least 2 weeks working with you and supporting you immediately after your restaurant launch, so we are there with you and your staff continuing to pass on knowledge and fine tune your business once you are up and running.
Each new franchisee comes to RocoMamas with different levels of previous experience and skills so we customise our training to fit your needs and make sure you get a full grounding in all back of house, front of house and business support areas.
Financing a business purchase needs to be approached in a specific way. If you don’t present yourself the right way to your bank or financier, you may not get the best deal or you may not get the loan.
RocoMamas has several independent experts we can link you up with to help you understand the financing process and options. For free they can do a quick assessment of your loan eligibility and options. If you like what they come up with for you, you can also get them to help you apply for the loan and do the paperwork for you.
From our perspective, we think it is important you contribute at least 50% of the investment amount and therefore borrow no more than 50%.
All franchisees must be Australian citizens or hold permanent residency status.
